Financial Transactions
Media Delivery Service providers may want the end-user to pay to
access the material. Usage logs could be used as an input into financial software
which generates invoices to the user for their use of the system. Usage Logging
software records such information as who has accessed the material (the IP address),
what they accessed (the file), and when they accessed it. The end-user may need
to first subscribe to the service to register themselves and their personal details
for billing purposes. Payments could possibly be received through on-line financial
transactions. If on-line financial transactions are to be used, serious consideration
would need to be given to the security issues involved in dealing with such sensitive
data.
